My Story
I grew up in Virginia. I’ve lived in Washington D.C., Chapel Hill, Boston, Chicago and I’m currently in Los Angeles.
I went to UVA, majored in Chemistry, and I’m a huge college basketball nut. I then spent 5+ years as a Research & Development Scientist working on molecular diagnostics and bioterrorism detection.
In 2010, I decided to pursue my MBA at University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. In the summer of 2011, I worked at a startup biotech pharmaceutical company (Aerial Biopharma), spanning an array of projects from M&A, investor relations, to fundraising. Aerial Biopharma raised $9.5M and has one successful exit worth up to $400M.
In 2012, I graduated from UNC and I was selected into Fidelity Investment’s Financial Leadership Program, a two-year development program designed to prepare high-performing, high-potential talent from diverse backgrounds for leadership roles in Fidelity’s Finance organization. The program combines four challenging, six-month assignments across multiple business units, workshops, and training sessions to further develop critical leadership, business, and analytical skills. In 2014, I became a Finance Director as part of the Enterprise Technology Organization.
I've consulted for numerous small businesses and startups. I worked with an on-demand gas service (FuelDrop), an MIT based startup and student award winner for the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition. I advised a data visualization startup (Plotly) on their fundraising approach and strategy. The team raised $5.5M in funding, has 4M users, and has been named one of the top three tools in data visualization. I’ve been showcased as a featured profile on Graphite, amongst 7,500 experts many of which have Big 3 management consulting experience, graduated from Top 10 MBA programs, and average 12 - 15 years of experience.
I’ve visited 22 countries, love doughnuts & ice cream, and I have two wonderful daughters, wife, and dog.
